Rugby Programme (Castleknock College)
Our rugby program has been developed and will be run by Kelvin Leahy – Kelvin is a former Irish rugby international who also captained Leinster. His coaching experience is wide ranging and includes senior rugby down to mini level and is IRFU qualified. Kelvin is a teacher at St Micheal’s College and was head coach when the college won the Leinster Senior Schools cup in 2012.
Kelvin is assisted by a number of IRFU qualified staff that will ensure that sessions will cater for players of all abilities and will include individual and positional skill development, mini- unit skills and team skills.
Eric Miller – Former Leinster, Ireland and British and Irish Lion Eric brings to the programme a unique insight to the game and how it should be played. Eric is currently the head rugby coach at St Gerard’s School, Bray.
Nigel Osborne – is currently the defensive coach/consultant to Stade Francais and head coach to the Dublin based All Ireland league team Seapoint RFC. Nigel also brings a wealth of rugby experience to the program having played at the highest level in Ireland and currently coaching in France. Nigel is also founder/owner of the highly successful Rugby and French camps based in Souston, South West France(www.rugbyandfrench.com).
Danny Dent – Part of the Leinster squad on a number of occasions as a hooker also brings years of experience to the coaching ticket. A qualified IRFU coach Danny is at the Catholic University School and has been involved with a number of their cup teams over the years.
